Self description: Svenska Burmakommittén är en ideell förening som arbetar för att öka medvetenhet och kunskapen om situationen i Burma. Målet är att omvärldens politik gentemot Burmas militärjunta ska skärpas fram till dess att landet respekterar mänskliga rättigheter och demokrati. Svenska Burmakommittén, som grundades år 2000, är religiöst och partipolitiskt obunden.
