This is the official web page of the Information Committee of the government of Burma. It provides free access to a collection of public news releases, statements and information sheets issued from 1996 to the present day. They include the daily government news updates that give details about current social, economic, political and foreign policy. The materials refute the claim that the government is involved in human rights abuses or political repression of pro-democracy campaigners such as Aung San Suu Kyi.
