International Conference: China, Sustainable Development and Economic Policy-Making
April 10, 2019-April 11, 2019
This conference brings together globally renowned experts, representing the perspectives of law, economics, environmental protection and climate change studies, political sciences and cultural studies to discuss pressing issues concerning China’s development. Significant growth of the Chinese economy in the last three decades, combined with a wide range of innovative reforms and initiatives has led to the country assuming the position of a key global power. As the economic growth subsides, China is increasingly hard-pressed to seek balance between invigorating the economy and safeguarding public goods related to the society and natural environment. The conference will analyze these complex phenomena and their significance for Nordic partners from the private, as well as public sector. It will discuss to what extent global sustainability objectives can be successfully reconciled with stimulating economic development.
