Karlstad University seminar on Activism in the Tibetan Diaspora

Tenzin Tsundue, who after graduating from Chennai in southern India crossed the Himalayas on foot into the forbidden Tibet, holds an open lecture at Karlstad University on Tuesday 27 May 2014, 10–12. The presentation is entited ”Activism in the Tibetan diaspora
Tenzin’s authoring and political actions have given him a strong position among young, politically aware Tibetans in exile. One of his stories, ”My kind of exile” won a major literary prize in India for it’s way of expressing ”the tragedy of being a Tibetan in this world”. See the poster
The reason behind his forbiden tour to Tibet as to see the occupied country and give a helping hand in the fight for freedom. He was arrested by Chinese border police and jailed in Lhasa for three months and then deported to India.
Later on the same day, 27th May at 18.00, Tenzin Tsundue will give an open lecture on the topic of ”Poetry and Protest for a free Tibet” at Värmlands Museum in Karlstad.
