Nordic Council of Ministers: Closer collaboration with China on innovation
November 21, 2017 - 04:25
China has become an increasingly important partner for Nordic universities and companies involved in innovation. The Nordic Council of Ministers is now inviting Nordic universities to apply for funding to set up networks involving Nordic universities and universities or other partners in the Shanghai region.
he call for tenders forms part of the Council of Ministers’ globalisation initiative in higher education and research.
"The aim of this call for tenders is to encourage closer co-operation on education, research and innovation between Nordic and Chinese universities and other innovators in the Shanghai region. Such co-operation will be mutually beneficial for all concerned," says the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, Halldór Ásgrímsson.
http://www.norden.org/en/news-and-events/news/closer-collaboration-with-china-on-innovation
The Nordic Council of Ministers also supports the establishment of the Nordic knowledge-triangle network, i.e. a network of Nordic universities to support interaction between research, education and innovation. Four Nordic networks were set up at the turn of the year and will continue their activities until the end of 2013. The call to tender for the Sino-Nordic knowledge triangle continues until the end of October. Grants of up to DKK 300,000 per project per year for up to three years are available. The total pool is DKK 3.5 million.
