Public guest lecture: Participative Mapping for the Urban Poor of Jakarta

May 26, 2016 - 13:15-15:00

The Greater Jakarta government has several poverty alleviation programs. These programs are spread out based on collected demographic data on the Kelurahan (sub-district) level. However, the lack of genuine participation by the citizen causes many missed targets in the field. We are trying to do participatory socio-spatial mapping with the kampung (urban settlement) people, who are mostly wrongly targeted by the programs.

More information here.

The lecture is part of the Southeast Asia Signature Series (SEASS)
