Security Environment in East Asia – Possible Flashpoints

This seminar will kick-off NUPI’s Modern Asia Seminar Series 2017. Director Shingo Yamagami of the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) will share his views on developments on the Korean Peninsula, in the Taiwan Strait and in the South and East China Seas.

While analyzing commonalities and differences between the four cases, and drawing lessons from these, Director Yamagami will focus on what Norway and Japan can and should do in this context.
