by Dr. Maaike Okano-Heijmans, Clingendael, Netherlands Institute for International Relations
This seminar will address the evolvement of the past decades of Japan’s economic diplomacy. It will assess how Japan acts as a trailblazer for the emerging Asian countries that are currently reshaping the world of international politics and diplomacy – a development to which Europe is struggling to adapt. The economic diplomacy of numerous countries in Northeast and Southeast Asia – including China, South Korea, India and Vietnam – is reminiscent of past Japanese policies and evolves in ways that mirror Japan’s path of more recent times.
The seminar will be moderated by Professor Marie Söderberg, Director, EIJS
Venue: Ohlinrummet, 5th floor, Stockholm School of Economics, Sveavägen 65
Language: English
Please RSVP to [email protected] no later than September 11, 2013.
The event is free of charge.
