Seminar: Managers like a migratory bird: Case study of foreign firms in Japan

October 16, 2019 - 15:00-16:30

Stockholm Seminar with Prof. Naoki Ando, Hosei University, Japan.

Foreign firms have difficulty finding English proficient managers in Japan because of a limited pool of such managers. The seminar discusses how foreign firms are addressing a short supply of English proficient managers. It also discusses an interesting group of managers: managers like a migratory bird. They speak English fluently and move from one foreign-owned firm to another. Is their contribution to workplaces positive or negative?
