Theatre: Ni hao Nuuk – an expedition on the occasion of Greenland’s (Kalaallit Nunaat) future

February 27, 2015 - 00:00-March 14, 2015 - 00:00

In an old industrial hall in Copenhagen’s botanical garden we invite you to join our expedition to Greenland. Three expedition tents are filled with stones, sealskin, binders and rare earth elements. Here we will take a glance at Greenland’s future – and in that way also Denmark’s.

Will the Greenlanders say goodbye to Denmark and enter into other Arctic alliances? What willl Greenland live on if the mining dreams burst and the Chinese money don’t show up? What is rare about rare earth elements? And is there anything good about the inland ice melting?

In Ni hao Nuuk we meet the young Greenlander from Kvanefjeld, a Norwegian super expert and the only Chinese in Nuuk. Maybe they will have the answers to our questions – and otherwise we will find them with you, when we meet around the table to a traditional Greenlandic kaffemik.

Ni hao Nuuk is a cooperation between Global Stories and the theatre S/H. Ni hao Nuuk is staged by Ditte Maria Bjerg, known for her engaging performances, all based on research.
