Why Area Studies Are Important: The Future of Asian Studies

350 year anniversary seminar at Lund University

At this event international scholars and scholars from Lund University and other academic institutions in Sweden will present their perspectives on the current situation and future of area studies, new approaches and projects, including transregional studies, as well as challenges for interdisciplinary studies and area studies.

Professor Barbara Törnquist-Plewa, Central and Eastern European Studies, European Studies, Lund University
Professor Björn Wittrock, director of Swedish Collegium for Advanced Studies, Uppsala
