    CENTER FOR MARKETS IN TRANSITION The Center for Markets in Transition (CEMAT) was founded in 1998 by the Helsinki School of Economics (HSE) to coordinate the university's activities related to the Central and East European economies in transition. In addition to these markets, the Center for Markets in Transition broadened its scope in 2004 and now conducts research also on rapidly transforming markets and economies in Asia. Special emphasis is put on comparative studies encompassing different geographical regions. The Center is academically oriented to a variety of disciplines in business administration and economics such as international business, economic geography, finance, law, management and marketing.
