National population censuses are performed in China every ten years by the National Bureau of Statistics and the resulting data from national and regional levels represents a rich bank of social data.
The population censuses were previously included in CNKI’s China Statistical Yearbooks Database(CSYD), but have been tranferred to this new database of only population censuses. We here have access to the parts of the censuses previously included in CSYD.
The last population census was the sixth national population census which was performed in 2010. Data from this census can also be freely accessed from the National Bureau of Statistics (See National Bureau of Statistics – censuses on this page).
