The Southeast Asia Research Group’s (SEAREG) twelfth conference will include five 2021 SEAREG Fellows who will present their work. Topics include: “Can Encounters with the State Improve Minority-State Relations? Evidence from Myanmar,” “Failing the Test’ – Indonesian Civil Service Examinations,” “From Recognition to Integration: Indigenous Autonomy, State Authority, and National Identity in the Philippines,” “Statistical Misreporting from Below, as Seen from (Very High) Above,” and “Political Regimes and Minority Language Recognition: Evidence from Southeast Asia.”
