The Summer school offers a great opportunity for students and researchers willing to deepen their knowledge on contemporary India, through an intensive week of lectures and workshops conducted by an international teaching staff.
The programme will focus on issues related to Adivasi communities from different points of view: from a historical contextualisation relating to colonial conceptualisation of tribalism, to environmental issues, as well as issues of economic marginalisation, under-representation, antagonism and conflict in nowadays India. The week will be concluded by a round table with Adivasi writers, poets, and publishers to discuss cultural representation, voices and languages.
The teaching staff is composed of Vinita Damodaran, Felix Padel, Bengt Karlsson, Alf Gunval Nilsen, Raphael Rousseleau, Luisa Steur, Alpa Shah, Ruby Hembrom, Hansda Parimal, Hansda Sowvendra Shekhar and Ganga Sahay Meena.
5 scholarships will be available to cover the cost of the accommodation in Turin.
