CfA: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Social Sciences and Global Health (UiO)

Applicants are invited for a 2 year position as Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Social Sciences and Global Health to be based at the Department of Community Medicine and Global Health, University of Oslo.
The position is funded by the Norwegian Research Council’s SAMKUL program and is dedicated to a new research project entitled From Asia to Africa: Antibiotic Trajectories across the India Ocean. The project follows the production, regulation and export of antibiotics from China and India, across the ocean, to its circulation and consumption in Tanzania. The Postdoctoral fellow will be investigating the production and export of antibiotics and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in China and their subsequent export to India and Africa, analyzing policy, regulation and trade documents in Chinese language, and, if possible, conducting two shorter fieldworks in South China (See the project description for more details). The study will be conducted in close collaboration with a PhD student working on antibiotic production in India (whose research will include fieldwork in Mumbai) and with a PhD student and Postdoctoral fellow working in Tanzania.
The postdoctoral fellow will be part of a research team consisting of two PhD research fellows, two postdoctoral research fellows, two medical students, as well as six senior staff (Heidi Fjeld (PI), Anne Kveim Lie, Ruth Prince, Muhammad Zaman, Christoph Gradmann, Heidi Østbø Haugen).
