Organizers: Social Science at Sino Danish Center for Education and Research (SDC) and Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK) in Shanghai
On 1st November 2021, the new data law of China, the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), will be enforced. PIPL sets fundamental requirements for handling of information for entities and regulates cross-border data transfers.
As the new data law is likely to have a strong impact on research in and on China, we have set an international panel of experts to explore the following questions:
- How does PIPL impact research at a broader scale?
- How does it fit China’s data policy framework?
- What are the challenges and opportunities raising from PIPL?
- How is PIPL likely to impact Danish-Chinese research collaboration?
