CROP workshop on Child poverty, youth (un)employment and social inclusion

November 19, 2014 - 00:00-November 21, 2014 - 00:00

The Comparative Research Programme on Poverty (CROP), based at University of Bergen, Norway, organises a workshop on ”Child poverty, youth (un)employment and social inclusion” in Athens, Greece. It is co-organised by the Institute of Labour, and Democritus University of Thrace. This workshop will focus on the crucial issue of child and youth poverty and critically raise the question of what policy strategies can break the vicious cycle of inter-generational poverty transmission. The lack of protection against child poverty not only constitutes a violation of basic human rights but it also entails high social and economic costs. Living in poverty has a negative impact on their current family and social life as well as on the long-term.

Deadline for submitting abstracts is 30 May 2014.
