Jiangsu Province – more than a neighbor to Shanghai
November 29, 2012 - 17:30-19:00
Through her first-hand experience of living and working in the capital of Jiangsu and now working as external advisor for the Capital Region of Denmark on its cooperation with FAO of Jiangsu Province, Line Elk Hansen shares her insight to the province, the latest development and to opportunities in this part of China.
Jiangsu province, located next to Shanghai, enjoys the highest amount of FDI to China above both Guangdong and Shanghai. Despite this, Danish presence in Jiangsu Province is very limited except for the single cluster of Danish production and R&D companies in Suzhou city. But the province of Jiangsu and its major cities hold vast opportunities for Danish enterprises and organizations and the road is right now being paved through agreements between Danish and Chinese government bodies on both provincial, city and district levels.
Through facts and personal experience Line Elk Hansen will give an overview of Jiangsu, identify the focus areas for future development in the region, describe the business and living environment and pinpoint the opportunities that she sees for cooperation between public and private Danish and Chinese entities.
Line Elk Hansen returned to Denmark recently after living for 6 years in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, where she worked with outsourcing, education and with building relations between Danish and Chinese government bodies. She has more than 20 years experience with Jiangsu province, starting in 1990 when she as a Sinology student from Copenhagen University went to study mandarin language at Nanjing University from 1990 to 1992.
