April 19, 2013 - 10:00-15:00

Denmark’s green think tank CONCITO is partnering with the Asian Development Bank and the Confederation of Danish Industry to launch the Asian Development Outlook 2013.
Asian Development Outlook 2013 provides a comprehensive analysis of macro-economic issues in developing Asia, with growth projections by country and region. This year’s ADO special theme chapter on “Asia’s Energy Challenge” explores how the region can ensure adequate, accessible, clean energy to achieve its growth potential.
Mr. Joseph Zveglich, ADB’s Assistant Chief Economist will present the key findings of the report and discuss current issues such as:
  • What are the immediate economic prospects for developing Asia and what risks lie ahead?
  • What does the recent resilience of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations bloc of economies have to offer the region?
  • How has the region been affected by quantitative easing monetary poli-cy in the mature economies?
  • Will the region be able to secure sufficient affordable energy to main-tain rapid growth in the decades ahead?
  • How can developing Asia adjust its energy needs to ensure environmen-tal sustainability?
  • What role can regional energy integration play in solving the region’s energy problems?
Participation in the Launch is free of charge, but you have to register to Klaudia Gram, CONCITO, kg@concito.dk before April 15th.
Venue: the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) at Sundkrogskaj 20, 2100 København Ø.
