“Transatlantic Trends Survey 2013”
September 19, 2013 - 09:00-11:30
The Swedish Institute of International Affairs (UI), the German Marshall Fund and the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs welcome you to a seminar with discussions on the results of the Transatlantic Trends Survey 2013.
Transatlantic Trends is an annual survey exploring how Americans and Europeans view the transatlantic relationship and different challenges facing the world. This year’s main innovation in the report is a new chapter on mobility, migration and integration. Sweden takes part in the survey for the third time. As before, Sweden’s public opinion differs from other EU countries on a number of issues investigated in the report. Why is this the case?
The report reveals findings about how the eurozone crisis has affected Europeans’ confidence in the EU. Some of the other findings include an analysis of the support in the United States and Europe for an intervention in Syria. The report also covers how Russia and China are perceived. Is Asia still viewed as more important than Europe for the U.S. respondents?
Coffee and registration from 08.30.
Location: The Swedish Institute of International Affairs, Drottning Kristinas väg 37, Stockholm.
Seminar fee: UI members free, non-members 100 SEK
