First published at the University of Copenhagen in 1987 as Copenhagen Papers in East and Southeast Asian Studies, the title changed to Copenhagen Journal of Asian Studies (CJAS) in 1994. The Journal was hosted at the Copenhagen Business School between 2003–2019. Since 2020, CJAS is published by the CCRS – Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies, University of Copenhagen.
